The 2009 Walk to Cure Diabetes, "Rock the Walk", was held on March 7, 2009 at Metro Park in Jacksonville. As of July 14, 2009, our Walk has raised over $492,000 for diabetes research!

Over 6,000 people turned out to walk this year, making it one of the most successful events in our chapter's history. A special thank you to the UNF Drumline who led walkers out of the park for the 3-mile walk, Dan Hicken and Joy Purdy from First Coast News for emceeing the event, and the band "The Architect Sound" for entertaining everyone after the event. A special thank you as well to our many vendors and sponsors, including food providers Chick-fil-a, Firehouse Subs, Coffee Perks, and Coca-Cola among others.
